33-year-old woman quits job to become tradwife without consulting her husband, he divorces her: 'There is no need for my wife to be at home 24/7'

The latest revival of the "tradwife" is clearly not going away any time soon. For those of you who are unaware (and we certainly do not blame you if you are), the so-called "tradwife movement" is its own subculture of various social media platforms, from TikTok to YouTube to Instagram, in which influencers are sharing and promoting more traditional ideologies surrounding men and women in the domestic space. Although the movement has sparked controversy, there seem to be no signs of it slowing down any time soon.

Like all cultural trends regarding relationships, the "tradwife" subculture has had a lasting impact on various couples, some of whom have shared their stories online. While many folks will be surprised to hear this, in this instance, we have a husband who had been trying to convince his wife to stop buying into the trend. Unfortunately, she was too far gone, and there was nothing he could do to stop her from quitting her job and staying at home.

  • Now, this is not to say that becoming a stay-at-home parent is not its own full-time job and one that deserves complete and total respect. However, couples need to be open with one another and discuss these matters in order to arrive at a mutually beneficial decision that makes sense for their family unit. Here, the 33-year-old wife completely disregarded her husband's opinion and went ahead with making her “tradwife” dreams a reality.
